Introducing Funky Diva Rhonda
Last week I introduced you to the first of my Funky Diva blogs inspired by Dorothea. I also told you that I’d been invited to exhibit a selection of them in a library. Paul and I went last Friday to put a few of them up as a display. It was very exciting to see them all together on the wall. They make quite an eye-catching statement en masse.
I’d painted 12 new ones wearing sundresses and floppy hats in bright colours and called them the Summer Belles collection. They have taken pride of place to the left of the wall and are flanked by some of the smaller paintings to the right – some of which are inspired by people I know, others just straight out of my imagination. I got some lovely feedback as people were passing so that felt really nice to hear.
In other news – the ones I’d sold, posted 3 of them first class on Monday and by Friday they still hadn’t arrived with their respective recipients. Bloody Royal Mail, I’m so cross about it. There’s nothing I can do except hope they turn up and learn from it. I chose not to pay for tracking, I’m wondering if that would have made a difference. Thankfully I scanned the originals, should I need to recreate them – v annoying though.
On a brighter note I also got some nice feedback from the blog last week which was inspired by Funky Diva Dorothea, so this week you are hearing from Funky Diva Rhonda.
Lessons in Power, Play and Purpose from Rhonda’s To-Do List
There’s something magnetic about Rhonda. She walks into a room and the energy shifts. Not because she’s loud or dressed to impress (though her outfits do leave an impression). It’s because she knows who she is and she owns it.
Rhonda’s the real deal. The woman with the goals and grit. She’s the one who’ll cheer you on louder than anyone but also the first to lovingly tell you to get your act together if you’re hiding from your potential.
And if you’re ambitious, accomplished, but quietly craving more then you might just find your next chapter will kickstart if you inject a little Rhonda energy.
Let’s unpack why…
Power Meets Play & Redefining How We Show Up
Rhonda’s style isn’t just aesthetically pleasing it’s aspirational. It’s the kind of outfit that says, “Yes, I’ve got shit to do, but I’m going to enjoy the ride.” She’s filled her wardrobe with things that bring her joy. She isn’t about dressing to prove anything anymore. She’s done with that chapter. No more squeezing into expectations or toning herself down to fit in.
Her wardrobe is an act of self-trust. A reminder that she doesn’t have to hustle for approval she just has to be. And that’s what makes her magnetic. She moves with purpose. She’s playful, powerful, and unapologetically herself.
Now pause and reflect:
Are you dressing for where you’ve been or where you’re going?
From Knockback to Comeback
Let’s be clear Rhonda’s not had it easy. She’s taken the hits, just like the rest of us.
She’s been knocked down by the curveballs life throws - redundancy, heartbreak, menopause, burnout. But she didn’t stay down. She built her comeback on self-trust and joy.
· Not hustle
· Not people-pleasing
· Not playing by someone else’s rules
She started journaling and manifesting. Setting tiny goals and celebrating the hell out of each one with an attitude of gratitude. She got intentional.
And in doing so, she proved something powerful…
Momentum lives in the micro-moments.
Not the huge milestones, the six-figure launches or the LinkedIn kudos. But the quiet, consistent choices. The days she picked herself up and kept going. The mornings she put on her favourite bold lipstick even when she felt grey inside. The times she chose to believe in her future instead of fearing it.
That’s the Rhonda magic.
Rhonda’s To-Do List (And What We Can Learn From It)
She’ll hand you your metaphorical clipboard with a cheeky grin and a serious stare.
Here’s what it might say:
Stop waiting for permission. No one’s coming to tap you on the shoulder and say you’re allowed to take up space. Rhonda didn’t wait, she declared it.
Match your energy to your dreams. If you want bold results, you can’t keep making beige decisions. That includes your wardrobe, your mindset, and your visibility.
Celebrate the small stuff. You put on a blazer instead of hiding in a hoodie? That’s a win. You showed up on video even though you were scared? Another tick. Momentem builds in the micro.
Call yourself out (with kindness).Rhonda’s not here for your excuses. She’ll ask the hard questions but with love. Are you really tired… or are you just afraid? Are you overwhelmed… or avoiding your next level?
Believe that you already have what it takes.Because you do. You’re not missing anything. You’re not too late. You just need to remember.
Style as a Mirror of Self-Belief
Here’s where Rhonda’s message and my work collide - your wardrobe is a mirror. It’s not really about clothes, they’re just a tool - it’s about confidence, identity, and how you see yourself.
Rhonda doesn’t reach for outfits that hide her. She reaches for clothes that carry her. Clothes that meet her where she’s at and where she’s heading. That’s the shift my clients often need.
She’s done the inner work. She’s rebuilt after heartbreak or burnout. She’s successful, grounded, wise. But her wardrobe hasn’t caught up. There’s still a bit of playing small. A bit of “I’ll treat myself when…”
What if the treating starts now?
What if the sharp blazer isn’t just a blazer - but a statement of intent?
What if the snazzy trainers aren’t just for comfort - but a declaration that you’re striding forward with purpose?
What if your next outfit is the first step towards remembering your power?
Belief Before Boldness
“Believe to achieve.” Because you already have what it takes. That line stops people in their tracks. Because deep down, they know it’s true, but they’ve buried it. That belief is what changes everything. It’s the missing piece between “I want to” and “I will.”
Rhonda knows that showing up starts with knowing you deserve to be seen. It’s not about proving yourself anymore. It’s about backing yourself.
And that’s exactly what I help my clients do - not just through style, but through alignment, intention and reconnecting to their identity so they can show up with clarity and presence.
Are You Rhonda Ready?
So, Are You Rhonda-Ready?
· You don’t need to change your whole life overnight
· You don’t need to fake confidence or follow trends that don’t feel like you
